A less formal event might constitute a less formal invitation. Information included will include: who is hosting the party, when and where the party will be held, who is being honored (or the occasion for celebration), and the all important RSVP info: phone number, email and date to respond by.

Additionally, if the party has a theme (for example: Mardi Gras), or you are giving an assignment (such as “bring your own mask”), include that info on the invitation, as well as any special attire (example: Mardi Gras semi-formal celebration attire).
